The Circle Eight-Vaughn by Emma Lang

A con man. A rancher’s daughter. A wildfire out of control.

Elizabeth Graham spends her days running the business side of the Circle Eight ranch. Her knack for numbers and organization lent themselves to her position in the family. She has just turned twenty-one and doubts she will find a man to spend her life with. Elizabeth doesn’t believe in love, after all, and when she meets a charlatan named Vaughn Montgomery, her opinion doesn’t waver. At first.

Vaughn Montgomery is down to the lint in his pocket and the handsome smile he uses as a weapon. His last con in New Orleans went wrong and he fled west. Now he finds himself trapped in the middle of nowhere Texas. And at the mercy of a hard-nosed woman who wears shapeless dresses and whose tongue can cut blocks of wood.

Unwilling to bend and unable to forgive, Elizabeth and Vaughn get caught up in a web of lies that stretches from Austin to Dallas. She finds herself falling for the man who can’t seem to tell the truth and he can’t get enough of a woman who can only speak truths. Together they have to save the Circle Eight and try to avoid falling in love.

Beth Williamson, who also writes as Emma Lang, is an award-winning, bestselling author of both historical and contemporary romances. Her books range from sensual to scorching hot. She is a Career Achievement Award Nominee in Erotic Romance by Romantic Times Magazine, in both 2009 and 2010.
Beth has always been a dreamer, never able to escape her imagination. It led her to the craft of writing romance novels. She’s passionate about purple, books, and her family. She has a weakness for shoes and purses, as well as bookstores. Her path in life has taken several right turns, but she’s been with the man of her dreams for more than 20 years.
Beth works full-time and writes romance novels evening, weekends, early mornings and whenever there is a break in the madness. She is compassionate, funny, a bit reserved at times, tenacious and a little quirky. Her cowboys and western romances speak of a bygone era, bringing her readers to an age where men were honest, hard and packing heat. For a change of pace, she also dives into some smokin’ hot contemporaries, bringing you heat, romance and snappy dialogue.
Life might be chaotic, as life usually is, but Beth always keeps a smile on her face, a song in her heart, and a cowboy on her mind. ;)

     Review

"The last thing that Elizabeth Graham expected to see when she opened the door during the worst storm of the summer was a naked man. Yet there he was...". This is a great way to start "Vaughn". This is the next book that is part of The Circle Eight series. This book revolves around Elizabeth Graham and Vaughn Montgomery. The entire Graham clan is away from The Circle Eight and Elizabeth has stayed behind to take care of Martha who is to old and frail to go on a trip. When Vaughn appears at her door he is naked and beaten and Elizabeth takes him in and nurses him back to health. As she is helping him get better she wonders what happened to him, she doesn't know that Vaughn has a sordid past and that it is about to catch up to him and pull her and The Circle Eight into it.

This is another great book by author Emma Lang. I love the strenght that this family has and Elizabeth surely proves that she is part of that strength. The other characters in the book are very well written and they have a lot of depth to them. If you have not read this series I highly recommend it and if you have you are going to love Vaughn.

Grace and Dignity by Laura Grody

Grace and Dignity is a book that is very different than anything I have ever read before. Laura has written a story that is perfect for middle school readers to adults. I loved the way she gets her point across that character counts. This book should be in every library.

According to Milo, rescuing Prince Dignity would be easy: 'On the count of three, we take a running Leap of Faith off Carpe' Diem Cliff, cross the River of Fear in the Raft of Courage, and boom, we're at the Castle of Doom.'
Princess Grace and Prince Dignity, a royal couple with mystical powers, are set to be crowned king and queen of the magnificent Kingdom of Love. But on the eve of their coronation, disaster strikes, and Grace is told her prince has been murdered. Grief-stricken, the princess reportedly dies of a broken heart, and the shocked kingdom falls into the eager hands of Dignity's unscrupulous cousin, Prince Denial. Months later, however, Grace is found alive with a gap in her memory, a loss of her powers, and a mysterious Pig Latin note suggesting Prince Dignity is very much alive. As she searches for her prince throughout the rundown kingdom, Grace stumbles upon an ancient secret known as 'The Cosmic Source' - a powerful force which promises to revive her mystical powers and lead to an exciting new way of living. But with the crown title 'throne' for a loop, the future of the Kingdom of Love hangs upon the prince's Dignity. Find out if True Love conquers all in this mystical, linguistical tale of 'Grace and Dignity.'

Laura Grody lives in Los Angeles with her True Love. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Radio/TV/Film and a master’s degree in linguistics, both from California State University, Northridge. She speaks a little Italian, Spanish, and French – sometimes all in the same sentence – and has designs on Portuguese and Greek next.
She spent several years in the entertainment industry as an assistant editor on movies such as Love Potion #9, Kalifornia, andWhen a Man Loves a Woman, and as an editor on the independent film Just Write. She also worked on the business side of film with a production company in Beverly Hills. Most recently, she has been working in the world of traditional healthcare, which has inspired her to get certified as a holistic nutrition practitioner/coach so she can help people live healthier lives.
Laura never intended to write a book, but when she found herself wanting to put her many interests in language, linguistics, movies, and the power of the mind all in one place, a story soon emerged. The end result is her first novel, Grace and Dignity.
